Perspectives

“When I was 17, the president of the Hispanic Organization Promoting Education (HoPe) David Araya told me that “to lead is to influence, to influence is to change the world.” Since then, I’ve worked towards being a leader in my community and being the change I wish to see in the world. I decided to major in public relations because I was certain that this pathway would equip me to communicate, to influence and to lead.”

Perspectives

“The classes I’ve taken at Grady prepared me by teaching me how to look at problems, specifically in the media space, through an analytical lens. My classes taught me to think beneath the surface problem and instead, identify the root of the issue.”

Caleb Smathers

Perspectives

“My biggest accomplishment within the past year has been continuing to trust in myself and my gifts which has allowed me to walk in my first New York Fashion Week Show and launch my creative consulting business.”

Paige Searles

Perspectives

“My study abroad to Cannes, France to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity was my “aha” moment. The work I saw helped me realize that the wildest ideas are possible. The silliest ideas are the most respected ideas. This experience helped me solidify the type of work I want to pursue and has made me the most excited for my professional future.”

Valeria Valdes

AB ’24

Perspectives

“The AdPR curriculum is thoughtfully planned to give students the best possible foundation for any career in mass communications. From understanding the basics of PR in Tom Cullen’s class to creating a full-fledged campaign, Grady’s classes aim to teach the most important and valuable skills to have in the industry. Plus, there are plenty of fun classes that make great conversation starters, like Podcasting with Kim Landrum.”
