PR senior receives 2015 Daniel J. Edelman PRSSA Award
Annie Swenson, a public relations senior from Stuart, Florida, has won a 2015 Daniel J. Edelman Public Relations Student Society of America Award.
The award has been presented annually since 1990 to active PRSSA students and honors those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership ability, a commitment to a public relations career and esteemed contributions to PRSSA. Students were judged on their leadership, public relations-related achievements and activities, social media/digital presence and recommendations from faculty members and/or industry professionals.
As one of three award winners, Swenson will receive $1,500 and a three-month paid internship at one of Edelman's U.S. offices to help advance her public relations skills.
“I can't wait to begin this next step in my career at Edelman,” Swenson said in a prepared statement. “I couldn't be more honored to accept this award, and I can't wait to see what I contribute to Edelman and the opportunities I will get to take on.”
In addition to her major, Swenson has earned a Grady College New Media certificate and is completing a minor in fashion merchandising. She serves as vice president of the UGA John E. Drewry Chapter of PRSSA.
