
Industry professionals join in panel discussion about entertainment media careers
A panel of four industry professionals will address UGA students interested in careers in the entertainment industry on Nov. 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The panel discussion is co-sponsored by the Department of Entertainment and Media Studies at Grady College and the UGA Career Center. It will be moderated by Jay Hamilton, head of EMST.
The event will take place in the Miller Learning Center room 101. It is free and open to all students.
Professionals on the panel include:
• Tracy Bacenas (ABJ '90), writer/director and Emmy-nominated TV/film editor. Bacenas has more than 200 episodes of work on primetime Hollywood series such as “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race” and “Big Brother.” She is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and The Motion Picture Editors Guild.
• Nikki Barjon, founder of The Barjon Group, a multimedia branding and creative support agency. Her career focuses on creating integrated strategies around branding, public relations, advertising, marketing, positioning strategies and media relations. She has spearheaded global campaigns from Greece to Ethiopia and Tokyo.
• Brennen Dicker, general manager SIM/Bling Digital Atlanta, which provides production and post-production services for a number of major network television series and feature films.
• Craig Miller (ABJ '77), owner and executive producer of Craig Miller Productions, which has produced award-winning content for Fortune-500 clientele. Miller is chairman of the Georgia Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Commission and is also currently serving as co-president of the Georgia Production Partnership.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the panel and network with panelists after the event.
