The Oglethorpe Echo is the legal organ of Oglethorpe and is staffed by Grady College journalism students who report and photograph for the paper. The students are taught by professors through a capstone class. The paper is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

Journalism and Mass Communication Career Day 2026

Thursday, February 12

Career Day connects organizations with students seeking internships and full-time roles in digital, print and broadcast journalism, entertainment, film, production, advertising and public relations. In recent years, the event has drawn 30-40 employers and 450+ students. We welcome all Grady College students, employers interested in hiring them, and our college’s faculty and staff to join us. This event is presented in partnership with the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and the UGA Career Center. Employers interested in attending: find all event details and the registration link here. Students: pre-registration is not necessary to attend. Washington, D.C. Alumni Reception

For more than a decade Grady college students and faculty have visited Washington, D.C. to learn more about communications roles in the area and meet alumni. GSPA Spring Workshop and Awards

Wednesday, March 18

The Georgia Scholastic Press Association and its middle and high school members from across the state will celebrate the best in scholastic journalism at the Spring Workshop and Awards. The event will be held at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. A workshop will lead the event, 9-11:45 a.m., followed by a banquet-style awards luncheon at noon, catered by the Georgia Center. Professional dress is suggested.
