Grady Board of Trust recognizes Melissa Libby for her leadership
For her service and dedication during her tenure as president of the Grady Board of Trust, Melissa Libby (ABJ ’85) was honored at the board’s March 6 meeting at Grady College.
“Melissa’s stewardship of the board is emblematic of what makes The Grady Board of Trust truly special, a group of people whose love of the college benefits us all in so many ways,” said Dean Charles Davis.
Libby, president of Melissa Libby and Associates, ceremoniously passed the gavel to Jeff Jowdy (ABJ ’83), president of the Lighthouse Counsel.
“The Board of Trust is a font of wisdom and expertise, and thanks to the leadership of the inestimable Melissa Libby, incoming chair Jeff Jowdy will not miss a beat in moving the board forward,” Davis said.
Throughout the day, board members had the opportunity to attend a class to get an inside look at the material Grady students are currently studying and the innovative methods in which lessons are being taught. They also heard a rundown of progress and priorities as the college continues its yearlong centennial celebrations.
Another highlight was a tour of the site of the new Peyton Anderson Forum, which is taking shape on the second floor of the college.
Construction is expected to be completed this spring and a dedication is anticipated for the fall.
