Experience
Lauren is a very prolific creator. She was a co-producer/director for the “People of Alabama” documentary video series that garnered millions of views online and received an INMA Global Media Award in 2020. She directed two narrative short films for the upcoming educational Super Science Showcase series. Jared Leto’s nationwide A Day in the Life of America documentary, which premiered at Tribeca in 2019 and is now on PBS, hired her to capture a prominently featured emotional Alabama story. After a successful festival run, The Third Saturday in October, a feature film throwback Southern 70s slasher film that Lauren produced and Jay Burleson directed, got a distribution deal through Dark Sky Films and is now on a theatrical run and is available for rent and purchase online. Lauren’s most recent narrative short film, “Blossoming”, that she wrote and directed, traveled to Sydfest in Australia in 2022. Her directorial debut feature narrative film, Ugly Sweater, was shot in Boston, MA in February of 2023, and is now in post-production.
In 2020, Lauren co-founded Purple Magnet Productions, a women-owned production company that is continuously committed to supporting a more inclusive and geographically expansive industry by collaborating with a variety of emerging storytellers and talented artists all over the world.
