Wine Conversations: Exploring Meaning, Mystery and Myth
Keith Herndon and Charlotte Varnum won two Taste Awards this year and were finalists in four other categories for work on their wine book and podcast. Wine Conversations: Exploring Meaning, Mystery and Myth was named a Special Achievement Winner in the 17th Annual Taste Awards for Best Interactive E-Book. One of Herndon’s original photos - Perfect Pairing - published in the book was a winner in the Taste Photography Awards. Innovative Ink, an imprint of Kendall Hunt, published the print edition last February and followed with the e-book in September. Season five of the Wines We Drink podcast based its 12 episodes on material from the book and was recognized as a finalist in four Taste Awards categories: Best Lifestyle Podcast, Best Food or Drink Podcast, Best Reality Series and Best Drink or Beverage Program. The awards’ organizer, the Academy of Media Tastemakers, describes the Taste Awards as “the Oscars of Food, Fashion and Lifestyle Media.”
