Best Paper Award – 27th Annual International Public Relations Research Conference
Anne Perera (PhD Student), Juan Meng, and Michael A. Cacciatore won the Best Paper Award on the conference theme of “Connecting Insights to Impact with Al, diversity, sustainability and trust: Research that matters to the practice” at the 27th Annual International Public Relations Research Conference - Orlando, FL, March 7 - 9, 2024. The paper was “Adoption of Generative AI in Communication Practices: Individual and Organizational Implications from the Perspective of Communication Professionals.”
Abstract: The research explored how the adoption of Generative AI could impact communication professionals. Our survey results showed several important themes, including professionals' interest in Generative AI, self-reported understanding and usage of Generative AI, perception of Generative AI's function, and organizational and individual challenges in adopting Generative AI tools.
