Carolina Acosta-Alzuru was selected as a 2024-2025 Fulbright US Distinguished Scholar to conduct research in Turkey.
Abstract of proposed research project: International sales of Turkish television content are projected to cross the $1 billion mark this year. Also, digital platforms, where Turkey already has a footprint, are opening new ways of transnational mobility for content. Through interviews and observation on sets and meetings, her research project will examine Turkey's TV content industry as it deals with the tensions between its Turkish and global audiences, and the coexistence (and future) of traditional TV and digital platforms.
