Colleen Oakley (ABJ ’02) book reading

Author Colleen Oakley (ABJ ’02) will return to her alma mater to read from her latest novel.

The book event will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 at the University of Georgia’s Miller Learning Center. Sponsored by UGA’s Libraries, the event is free and open to the public, and a light reception will follow.

Oakley’s latest novel, You Were There Too, is one of O Magazine’s Top 22 Romance Books of 2020, a Publisher’s Weekly Starred Review and a Library Reads January 2020 pick. Oakley will read from the book and sign copies afterward.

Oakley is a 2002 graduate of the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at UGA. Her articles, essays, and interviews have been featured in The New York Times, Ladies’ Home Journal, Marie Claire, Women’s Health, Redbook, Parade, and Martha Stewart Weddings. Before becoming a freelance writer, Colleen was editor in chief of Women’s Health & Fitness and senior editor at Marie Claire.

The event will be held in the Thomas Reading Room, located on the third floor of the Miller Learning Center. Parking is available in the Tate Center parking deck.
