About: Susan Noh teaches entertainment media coureses in the Department of Entertainment and Media Studies. Her research foci including global media, digital platforms and the ways in which marginalized communities use digital media to create spaces of belonging.

Research Interests and Activities
Susan Noh is an assistant professor of Entertainment and Media Studies at the University of Georgia. Her research interests broadly revolve around global media, digital platforms, and the ways in which marginalized communities use the affordances of the digital in order to foster activist-oriented communities and spaces of belonging. Her current research project is focused on how global streaming services, such as Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Amazon Prime, are influencing the production practices of the Japanese anime industry, as well as how their intermediation is affecting consumption practices of global media more generally within the United States.
Her work has been published in Television and New Media, the International Journal of Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities Quarterly, and more.
Experience
Previously, Noh was an Assistant Professor of Communications and Film and Media Studies at Oglethorpe University. Her experience has informed an inclusive pedagogical approach.
