Profiles of Tenacity: Natalie Hope
Profiles of Tenacity: Natalie Hope
Natalie Hope is a fourth year public relations major with a minor in religion set to graduate in December 2025. She currently serves as a Grady Ambassador and is a student digital marketing assistant for UGA Student Affairs.

Read her Q/A below.
Why did you choose your major?
I chose to major in public relations because I am passionate about telling others’ stories. For as long as I can remember, I have loved to write. Whether it was creative short stories or informative essays, I grew up with a passion for telling a story. Now, professionally, I get to tell the story of my clients and bring their identity and passion alive. It is incredibly fulfilling for me to get to use my platform and resources to elevate others’ stories.
What does tenacity mean to you?
Tenacity, to me, means recognizing the losses, learning from them and celebrating the small victories along the way. It is about using every possible moment, good or bad, to learn something new, tuck it into your pocket and use it in the future so that you can tackle other obstacles when they inevitably come your way.

What is one piece of advice that you would give to other Grady students?
One piece of advice I would give to other students is to take full advantage of the resources available during your time in Grady. Our college is so intentional about providing students with professional development, networking opportunities and other career resources so that you are prepared to enter the job market once you graduate. As someone who is graduating in December, and who tried to take full advantage of the resources provided, I can confidently say that I feel prepared to find and successfully land a job.
What or who has had the biggest impact on your life?
Honestly, transferring to UGA has been one of the biggest impacts in not only my professional life, but my personal life too. I transferred from a small out-of-state school that did not have a lot of professional resources. When I arrived at UGA, all of that changed. I have made more connections and had an abundance of incredibly cool opportunities here and I will always be thankful for how it has changed my life.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in the past year?
My biggest accomplishment in the past year will be graduating next week! I have put in a lot of diligent work these last four years to be able to walk across the stage and earn my degree. I cannot take full credit for this accomplishment, though, as I have had many mentors, faculty and professors who have helped me achieve this goal, too.
What is your favorite place on campus and why?
My favorite place on campus is the PAF at Grady College. There is always something going on and it is always fun to stop by and see what event is happening. I also love that it is on the second floor of Grady, because I always run into my favorite faculty members.
What advice would you give to your future self?
Advice I would give to my future self is to continue to celebrate the small victories along the way!
