Aarum Youn-Heil is a PhD student in Mass Communication and Entertainment Media Studies at the University of Georgia. Her research interest is interracial communication and how it relates to media. Through a critical lens, she focuses on how mediated racial representations impact racial identities and interracial communication. Her current research examines the growing disparity among the media’s portrayal of racial diversity and people of color’s apprehension towards interracial interactions.

Aarum is an avid watcher of TV and enjoys new adventures with old friends.
