Schupska
Stephanie Schupska is a seasoned communicator with experience in communications, public relations, media relations, development communications, brand management, graphic design, photography, writing, editing and project management. In addition to her Ph.D. work, she directs communications for UGA’s Morehead Honors College and the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities.
Stephanie’s research interests include health and science communication, media and the news industry, generative AI in communications, and strategic communications.
Stephanie began her career in newspapers, first in Valdosta as a sports reporter, then in Savannah as a general assignment reporter, and finally in Cordele as night news editor and lead editor. She transitioned to academic communications with the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, was a public relations coordinator and research news editor for the Division of Marketing and Communications, and now leads communications for the Morehead Honors College. Stephanie also serves on the TEDxUGA Advisory Council.
In addition to UGA, Stephanie is an active member of PRSA Georgia, where she is director-at-large for the awards committee. She previously served on the social media committee and as a chapter-wide graphic designer.
She and her husband live in Athens with their two sons, who keep them busy with all the sports, including soccer, which Stephanie very much enjoys coaching.
