Kim
Jiwon is a doctoral student in Advertising & Public Relations at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Her research interests focus on media psychology (consumer psychology), AI-mediated communication, social identity (including stereotypes, prejudice, and bias), and psychophysiological methods. She explores how the representation of content in media environments shapes people’s perceptions and attitudes.
Prior to pursing her Ph.D, she worked as a research assistant and coordinator at the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), a South Korean government agency affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, for six years. During her time there, she managed the publication of white papers on music and cartoons, as well as reports on broadcasting and media content. She then received her master’s degree in communication from Seoul National University before coming to the University of Georgia to pursue her Ph.D.
In addition to her academic work, she serves as both a program coordinator for the Cox International Center’s Communication & Media Fellows Program in the Grady College and an editorial assistant for the Journal of Interactive Advertising.
