John R. Carter has produced, written or directed hundreds of commercial and educational programs including ads for Coke, Mastercard, Miller Light, AT&T, UPS, Maxxis Tires, United Way, as well as producing content for government agencies including the FDA, Health and Human Services and The US Department of Veterans Affairs.  He co-created the first national retail point of purchase ad network featuring programming in over 100 stores.  He produced the first commercials aired in high definition and one of the first digital Hollywood feature films.  He also produced and directed two feature films with Oscar and Emmy winning casts with a net profit of $25 million in worldwide sales, and recently a documentary covering domestic human trafficking.  The film has since led to extensive training programs in cooperation with the Department of Justice, industry, and state and local law enforcement.

As a UGA alum, John saw an opportunity to develop an Experiential Leaning program in cooperation with Grady College.  The program partners with local and regional brands to develop ads that are effective in the marketplace by guiding students through the full business cycle of commercial video advertising.  From sales and account management, writing, producing and delivering real ads for clients, the net result is more than a line on a resume for students; but a collaboration that equals tangible work product and career opportunities for the undergraduate in both the Ad/PR and EMST disciplines.
