Ph.D. Student

Ansley Zhao is a first-year PhD student studying Public Relations at Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Her research generally centers around effective corporate leadership and crisis communication in Public Relations. Specifically, her research seeks to generate insights and actionable strategies for corporations navigating sticky crises. Her current research projects include Women in leadership, strategic communication for sticky crises induced by moral outrage, as well as the potentials of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in relevant research areas.

Prior to PhD, Ansley earned her bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Normal University with a major in Advertising, and her M.A. degree in PR from Grady College. While pursuing her master’s degree, Ansley collaborated with a wide range of scholars in crisis communication, science communication, and leadership studies, and was actively involved in several research groups. She is excited to continue her research journey at Grady, building on her prior work while exploring new potentials in crisis and strategic communication.
