Danish journalist and scholar Cathrine Gyldensted, joins us to discuss world-class solutions journalism concepts.
Gyldensted is an investigative journalist, author and expert on solutions journalism, a holistic approach to reporting that centers on responses to issues rather than the problems themselves.
She is the author of “From Mirrors to Movers,” a practical guide to the five elements of solutions journalism. From 2015 to 2018, Gyldensted served as the world’s first Director of Constructive Journalism at Windesheim University in the Netherlands.
Since 2000, Gyldensted has served as a reporter, a radio anchor and executive producer at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation and at Radio24syv. Gyldensted has published several books covering U.S. politics, media critique and solutions journalism methods.
Additionally, Gyldensted’s work has been featured in The Guardian, Huffington Post, TEDxDresden and by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers.
Gyldensted, who has traveled throughout Scandinavia, Europe and the United States teaching workshops and speaking at international media conferences, is currently specializing in open source intelligence methods covering the Arctic region.
