Diversity and Inclusion Advocacy Awards

Please provide a brief rationale based on one of more of the following criteria.

1. Research/Creativity – Publishes research or creative expression that fosters understanding and spreads the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion at home or abroad.

2. Teaching/Advising – Educates students and/or other communities about issues of social justice and inclusion through curriculum design, workshops, advising and other forms of communication that bridge awareness and action.

3. Service/Administration – Builds partnerships that create a more equitable community and world. Works to tear down unjust barriers. Challenges bias and discrimination. Provides opportunities for underrepresented and underserved communities, including but not limited to recruiting of faculty, staff and students. Promotes an organizational culture that celebrates equity and social justice. Demonstrates advocacy for social justice and intercultural awareness.

Semi-finalists and award winners will be chosen by the college’s standing Executive Committee and recognized at the spring college faculty meeting. Award winners will receive $1,000 toward travel or a DEI project/research.
