Neill, M. S. (CO-PI) at Baylor University and Meng, Juan (CO-PI) at University of Georgia: $6,000 (funded) (July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022)
Funder/Sponsor: The Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communications.
Project description: This sponsored study will focus on investigating the roles of ethics of care and servant leadership in building the leader-follower relationship in public relations practice. Leadership and mentorship are especially important during times of upheaval, uncertainty and radical change, so it is critical for leaders to pay close attention to the personal needs of their followers. To achieve the research goal, we will use a mixed research design by conducting in-depth interviews and an online survey with public relations and communication professionals to understand the extent to which ethics of care and servant leadership are being practiced by public relations leaders and senior leadership of the organization.
