Park
Sohyun Park is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Journalism. Her research interests are widespread online misinformation and disinformation in health and science topics. She is particularly interested in examining media effects on the formation and reaffirmation of people’s attitudes toward ideologically controversial issues as well as intervention to counter misbeliefs. Pursuing her scholarly interest in media psychology, she participates in various research projects as a member of the Digital Media and Cognition (DMAC) Lab. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Science Communication and Journal of Language and Social Psychology.
Prior to her doctoral studies, Sohyun worked in the public relations industry for 5 years in Seoul, South Korea. Her experience includes creating digital content, managing social media accounts, and communicating with journalists and social media influencers on behalf of global IT and Motor brands, including NVIDIA and Volvo Cars Korea. She also assisted in developing an effective crisis communication strategy for Korean government officials.
