Corporate Engagement — Innovate and Collaborate

INNOVATE AND COLLABORATE

Take advantage of several opportunities to create an innovative learning experience benefiting students as well as our industry partners. Companies and organizations learn directly from students about sentiments and ways of communicating that effectively reach young adult consumers. Opportunities for national, small business or non-profit businesses are available through the College’s award-winning student-run agencies, including advertising, PR, social media, AI labs and video production.

Digital Natives

Digital Natives brings UGA journalism students with digital news expertise into newsrooms for one week to help local journalists accomplish specific digital goals. This innovative program, through the Cox Institute’s Journalism Innovation Lab, connects students and local news organizations benefiting both. Digital natives connect digitally savvy journalism majors to assist with a variety of digital tasks like optimizing social media, creating digital content on various platforms, and experimenting with new technologies, as well as audience engagement, and helps with disinformation. Students benefit from learning from these organizations by spending a week in a working newsroom environment. News organizations of any type can apply — newspaper, TV, radio, or digital — and will be chosen through an application process.

New Media Institute

Engage with the next generation of digital leaders by partnering with the New Media Institute (NMI). As a partner, your organization will work with talented, cross-disciplinary student teams to develop digital solutions designed for real-world industry applications. Through hands-on collaboration, organizations will work with students to apply new media technologies to create fully-realized prototypes. This is a unique opportunity to explore emerging technology and support a learning environment that inspires students to innovate and shape the future of new media.
