"Unveiling Female Desire: A Critical Analysis of Female Sexuality in Media," paper accepted for presentation at the Entertainment Studies Interest Group of Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) conference, Philadelphia, PA. August 8-11, 2024.

Abstract: This paper examines scholarly perspectives on the depiction of female sexuality in entertainment media, aiming to identify recurring themes and opinions. The examination illustrates that scholars predominantly focus on sexual subjectivity, sexual liberation, and sexual empowerment. Although these terms are interpreted differently, a comprehensive analysis suggests they are interconnected. The study argues that achieving one aspect is challenging without the others, revealing shortcomings in media representations of female sexuality that often overlook its multifaceted nature.
