Anna Womack, a graduating public relations major from Cartersville, Georgia, has been named the distinguished senior speaker for the Grady College Spring Convocation.

Graduating students will be honored during Convocation ceremonies on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, beginning at 2 p.m. at The Classic Center’s Grand Hall. Graduates will have their names read in front of family, friends, faculty and staff as they walk across the stage. A livestream will be available on the Grady College YouTube channel.

Womack is a graduating PR major with a Public Affairs Professional Certificate.

Womack is graduating magna cum laude with a Public Affairs Professional Certificate. She is a Grady College ambassador and has served as the director of training and development for Talking Dog Agency, the DEI and outreach committee head for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and a Carolyn Caudell Tieger public affairs communication fellow.

“I cannot express how much being chosen as the Grady Convocation speaker truly means to me,” said Womack. “Little Anna Catherine, who grew up coming to football games with her dad and admiring Grady on the walk into the stadium, would be grinning big right now! It is a moment I have dreamed of for years. Grady has been the biggest part of my college career. From professors to students, this college has given me so much, and I am honored to give back and represent the most resilient people I know, the Class of 2024.”

In addition to Grady Convocation, graduating students and family are invited to attend the Graduation Celebration on Friday, May 10, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The celebration will take place on the Schnitzer Family Media Lawn outside of Grady College and will feature light refreshments, photo opportunities, and the chance to talk with faculty and fellow graduating students.

The UGA Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony takes place at 7:30 p.m. on May 10 at Sanford Stadium. The UGA Graduate Commencement Ceremony takes place on Thursday, May 9, at Stegeman Coliseum. The Master’s/Specialists Ceremony will start at 10 a.m., and the Doctoral Ceremony will start at 2 p.m.
