Grady has given me such a strong sense of community within our campus. My involvement in PRSSA and Women in Media has helped me connect with the vast alumni base and gain leadership experience.

My favorite Grady College class to date was Entertainment Media Industries (EMST 3150) with Dr. Bernabo. The knowledge I learned in that class helped become so literate in entertainment industry language and provided me with skills that I utilize inside and outside of the classroom.

My favorite Grady College experience was presenting my faculty-mentored undergrad Grady research at the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities Symposium. It meant so much to me to finally show off what Dr. Read and I had been working on for so long!

My favorite Grady class was Feature Writing because I enjoyed being in a space where I could grow through writing and explore topics that challenged me to become a better storyteller. Shoutout to Professor Nick Chiles for being such an amazing professor.

Grady College has become my second home—a place where I feel seen and encouraged to be the best version of myself. It has given me opportunities to study abroad, serve as part of the Ambassadors program, and work as a graduate assistant for experiential programs within the college.

“The versatility of Grady allows students to gain skills and apply skills in any industry they intend to pursue a career in. Because of our robust alum network, Grady students are equipped with industry connections; whether that industry is beauty, entertainment, sports or anything else.”

“The ambassador program means the most to me because I have gotten to know so many people that I find so inspirational. They are funny, kind, driven, and open to new ideas and conversations on why/how we make Grady the best place possible.”

This past summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to go on the Grady study abroad to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity! I learned so much about the industry and my career aspirations while being surrounded by the beauty that is the South of France—it was the trip of a lifetime!

Women in Media was the first club I joined as a freshman, and I immediately felt welcomed by everyone there and their mission deeply resonated with me. It was one of the first spaces in college where I felt safe enough to challenge myself by starting conversations and asking questions to new people, and those conversations have been wildy formative for me both professionally and personally.

My favorite class is Advanced Photojournalism. I have loved all of my photo classes, but this one is taking the cake thus far. I am loving getting to know the real technicalities of my camera on more than just the “intro” level and getting to put those skills to use outside of the photo lab in places like the Georgia National Fair and Oglethorpe County football games to name a few!

Grady College is unique in every which way, but the thing that makes this College so special is our Dean. Dean Davis is the most genuine, hardworking professional I have ever met. He’s always smiling, always laughing and always teaching. He makes every single student a priority, building relationships with everyone he meets.

Grady is special because we are the embodiment of creativity. I love the pride that radiates from the building, students, staff, and supporters. Grady is a safe space for everyone. After a stressful day, I know I can come back to my college and feel refreshed and energized to create. Grady heavily fosters community and collaboration through class structures and events. Professors make it a priority to learn from students and make the classroom an innovative environment for creation and feedback.
