Storytelling and media editing workshop planned for Grady students

Jeff Greenberg and Wes Plate will host a series of lectures and workshops on storytelling and media editing for Grady College students. These events are scheduled Oct. 23-25 and will take place in Studio 100 located on the first floor of the journalism building.

Greenberg and Plate are storytelling professionals who have traveled the country sharing their expertise with media students and other professionals. Greenberg specializes in the areas of editorial, workflow, compositing, sound, color grading and compression, after having nearly two decades of experience working as a post-production consultant and master instructor for Adobe, Apple and Avid. Plate is a freelance editor and founder of the software company Automatic Duck, which is a leading provider of timeline translation tools.

The schedule below is a list of the events that will take place over this three-day period. In between sessions, students will have the opportunity to engage in discussion with Greenberg and Plate about applications and programs, working in the business, how to edit film, etc. If students would like to attend lunch or dinner with Greenberg, Plate and Jim Biddle, senior lecturer at Grady College, please email Biddle at editorneedscoffee@gmail.com. Students will need to pay for their own meal.

The final session with Plate and Greenberg. Premier of 15-second films and critiques.
