Abstract: Social media have become dominant channels for organizations and citizens to share disaster information (Niles, Emery, Reagan, Dodds, & Danforth, 2019). Yet, there remain critical information gaps (Eriksson, 2018). Through a review of academic and grey literature, we provide a solid foundation for advancing crisis communication effectiveness in the digital age.
