Top Student Paper

Aarum (Farrah) Youn-Heil (current PhD student) received first place in the Top Student Paper competition for AEJMC’s Minorities and Communication Division for her paper, “America was terrified… of an Orange”: How Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Reverts Yellow Peril Propaganda through Intertextuality.”  This paper also received AEJMC’s “Champions of Editing’s Deborah Gump’s Excellence in Research Award.”

Solyee Kim (recent PhD grad) received the first place in the Top Student Paper Award from the Public Relations Division at 2022 AEJMC Conference for her paper “Social Identity Signaling in Public Relations: Recruitment of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ Practitioners.”
