Preparing to Face the Media in Crisis: How to Train Spokespersons Before a Crisis
Rongting Niu (Ph.D. student) and graduate student team members Sara Castro, Madison Imparato, Grace Short and Ansley Zhao won the Grady College Crisis Communication Think Tank Hedge Fund Award and Grant ($5,000) for a project on “Preparing to Face the Media in Crisis: How to Train Spokespersons Before a Crisis.” The team will use the funds to carry out a research project under the direction of Dr. Yan Jin and the Crisis Insights & Analytics Lab (which is connected with Grady College’s Crisis Communication Think Tank). Project Purpose: This research seeks to provide crisis communication practitioners with guidance on conducting spokesperson training, thereby assisting organizations in effectively navigating and mitigating crises.
