Overview: In this talk, Read will discuss some contemporary controversies surrounding biometrics and AI and apply them to advertising. Topics to be covered will include emerging possibilities in advertising research and practice that are made possible by the integration of biometrics and AI, followed by a careful examination of the ethical quandaries that are presented by their use and application. One aim of this presentation is to stimulate conversations to develop a series of standards and ethical best practices to guide the integration of these novel technologies in advertising research and practice.
