Grady students have moxie
Twenty-five AdPR Grady College students were selected to participate in a unique social media strategy workshop conducted by Moxie Interactive professionals Feb. 14.
During this hands-on workshop, the students learned about social media and digital behaviors from the digital agency perspective.
The workshop kicked off with students breaking into five teams of five to attend different panels with Moxie experts each talking about their field of work. From creative to analytics, the participants received a deeper insight about what goes into a successful advertising campaign.
“The workshop is part of a comprehensive learning alliance with Moxie that helps ensure our graduates are digital ready and future leaders in brand advocacy,” said Tom Reichert, head of the AdPR Department.
When the sessions were completed, the teams of students were challenged to come up with a campaign in just 40 minutes.
The groups were instructed to create a Valentine’s Day social media marketing plan to generate awareness, engagement, and sales of smart fitness accessories, using a hypothetical $1 million budget.
The teams were then given 10 minutes to present their campaigns and ideas in front of the Moxie representatives to get professional feedback.
“[The] student's thought processes and perspectives exceeded our expectations,” said Dan Kurber, head of Learning and Development at Moxie Interactive. “It is very apparent that [Grady] students are receiving nothing less than a top-notch education.”
The winning team included students Brooke Shearouse, KC Smith, Ryan Moyer, Liza Wooten and Annalise Coronel.
This workshop was the start of a partnership between Grady College and Moxie Interactive.
“Through the leadership of Moxie CEO and Grady Board member Suzy Deering, we have outlined a plan for future collaborations with Moxie that includes things such as exclusive Moxie internships, workshops, projects and other training for Grady students as well as AdPR faculty immersion opportunities,” commented Karen King, AdPR professor. “The Grady AdPR Department is looking forward to our continued partnership with Moxie to help create the next generation of digital strategists and leaders.”
