Grady Senators to host Q&A with Dean Charles Davis
In an effort to connect students with administration and decision makers on campus, Grady Senate members of the Student Government Association are hosting a roundtable discussion and Q&A with the Dean of Grady College.
The roundtable will take place on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. in the Peyton Anderson Forum (formerly the Drewry room). All Grady students are encouraged to attend and participate in a conversation about the future of Grady College. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
“The Q&A is a great chance for students to talk about their Grady experience, ask any questions they have and just relax and have a good time chatting with their dean,” said Charles Davis, dean of Grady College. “It’s always a treat for me to get to spend some unhurried, informal time with students.”
A Grady Senator in the Student Government Association came up with the idea for the event two years ago. This year’s Senators, Taylor Lamb and Shiv Patel, have decided to bring it back.
“I think it’s incredibly important for students to know the dean of their college,” said Taylor Lamb, Grady senator. “Grady isn’t just about the student; the faculty and administration are also a huge part of the Grady family. Knowing the people who make the decisions around here, as well as adding input to those decisions, really amplifies the college experience and make you feel like a part of something—not just another face in the crowd.”
Lamb and Patel coordinated the event to let Grady students get to know the people who are representing their interests at a higher level. The event will serve as an opportunity for students to present their ideas and opinions in a casual, informal setting.
Students are encouraged to RSVP to the event to ensure that there are enough refreshments for all in attendance. The form can be found at http://goo.gl/forms/uXFZmwbPlu .
