
Grady College names members of new ADPR Advisory Council
The University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication has named a new executive advisory council for its Department of Advertising and Public Relations.
The Advertising and Public Relations Advisory Council will host its inaugural meeting in April to begin its efforts to enhance and support the college’s nationally-recognized programs.
Council members, from both U.S. and international companies, will focus their efforts in several directions including expanding opportunities for internships and other professional experience for students, expanding corporate resources for the program and attracting top-tier guest lecturers and visiting faculty.

These inaugural council members are some of the most successful and respected advertising and public relations professionals in the world,” said Charles Davis, dean of Grady College. “They represent both established Fortune 500 companies and successful entrepreneurial ventures. We believe their wisdom, experience and contacts will quickly become a major force for students in our program.”
Consultant Julie Winske is the convening chair and will lead the group’s first meeting on the UGA campus.
“This important venture will bring together a diverse group of the industry's leading minds, all focused on assuring that UGA programs are infused with the most current perspectives from around the globe,” commented Winske. “We are investing ourselves, at this time of unprecedented change in communications, to continue building momentum for the University's nationally-ranked advertising and public relations programs.”
Tom Reichert, department head of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations, is excited about the experiences the board will help create for students.
“Our curriculum is designed to teach students how to succeed in the professional world of Advertising and Public Relations,” said Reichert. “We look forward to additional opportunities that will link students with some of the best and most successful agencies and organizations in the world. We are deeply appreciative of their willingness to support the AdPR program in this way.”
