Grady College hosts Georgia Association of Broadcasters Radio Talent Institute
The University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication proudly hosted the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Radio Talent Institute June 16-25.
Over the course of the 10-day Institute, 14 participants got an inside look at careers in the radio industry from professionals from Atlanta and throughout the Southeast who are teaching sessions on management, on-air performance, ownership, production, programing and sales.
The students completed Radio Advertising Bureau training modules in preparation for the RAB Radio Marketing Professional Certification Exam, which they took at the end of the first week of the Institute.
Though much of the program is being held at Grady College, participants on June 18 traveled to Atlanta for a media tour of Turner Field to learn about play-by-play sports broadcasting.
On June 20, they had the chance to be part of a live morning show broadcast on “The Ryan Cameron Show” on V103/WVEE.
There were also numerous other networking opportunities for students to mingle one-on-one with industry professionals.
