Nikki Barjon, founder of The Barjon Group, visits Grady College as this year's speaker from the Advertising Educational Foundation (AEF).

The presentation takes place Tuesday, April 7 from 12:30 p.m. to1:45 p.m. in MLC 101.

Barjon has experience in all areas of communications and, according to her biography, focuses on creating integrated strategies around branding, public relations, advertising, marketing, positioning strategies and media relations. She is a sought-after figure for corporations, and her firm, The Barjon Group, supports some of the world's largest brands.

Head of Upterns, an award-winning internship program and number one in the industry, Barjon is invested in developing young talent and preparing students for high intensity careers.

The AEF works to bring advertising professionals to colleges and universities around the country to conduct one-day programs for students and faculty. AEF speakers participate in hundreds of programs during the year and cover topics in multicultural advertising, ethics in advertising, gender portrayals, advertising to children, and more.

The program is presented by the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications and sponsored by Grady College's AdPR Department. It is free and open to the public.

Barjon will be at AdPR's Networking@Night the same day at Highwire downtown at 5:30 p.m.

Networking@Night is an informal dinner opportunity for AdPR classmates to converse with an advertising or public relations professional about life after graduation. Space is limited; reserve your spot by April 2 by emailing AdPR Department intern Meghan McLynn: meghanmclynn@gmail.com. Include your name, major and a 50-word (or less) description of your interest in attending this event. Dinner is not provided.
