DESCRIPTION:SLAM is the New Media Institute’s end-of-semester showcase that celebrates student projects and graduates. This celebration highlights how “technowledgeable” the students have become during their Emerging Media journey as a host of industry guests and NMI alumni join us for an afternoon of showcasing\, networking\, and reminiscing. During the booth showcase\, students will walk-through the many facets of their project\, allow attendees to engage with the product\, and field any and all questions. \nThis event begins at 12:30 p.m.

SUMMARY:Grady College Fall Convocation
DESCRIPTION:Grady’s Fall Convocation honors students graduating in Fall 2019. The Convocation brings students\, faculty\, family and friends together to celebrate Grady student achievement and to welcome graduates into the professions in journalism and mass communication. \nConvocation will be held on Thursday\, Dec. 12\, 2019\, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Hodgson Hall in the UGA Performing Arts Center. Directions to Hodgson Hall and parking information are available at  www.uga.edu/pac/directions.html. \nThe event is free but tickets will be required for family members and friends. Each student will receive up to four tickets with the possibility of receiving more two days before Convocation. \nThe speaker for fall convocation is Randy Travis (ABJ ’82)\, investigative reporter for Fox 5 in Atlanta and recent Peabody Award winner. \nMore details are available at Grady.uga.edu/grady-students/graduation/. \n
