DESCRIPTION:Moderated by Professor Valerie Boyd\, Charlayne Hunter-Gault Distinguished Writer-in-Residence. Dr. Sherri Williams\, an assistant professor in race\, media and communication at American University\, will talk about #SquadCare and the need for diverse students to focus on mental health\, especially in the current cultural climate. This talk is co-sponsored by Graduate and Professional Scholars\, Graduate/Professional Student Association and the Grady College Standing Committee for Diversity.  The purpose of the lecture is to celebrate the diverse identities of our student population\, while also affirming their intersectional experiences.

SUMMARY:2018 ADPR Nonprofit Tour: Use your powers for good!
DESCRIPTION:If you are thinking about a career in nonprofits\, consider applying to go on the 2018 ADPR Nonprofit Tour\, which will be on Friday\, March 2 in Atlanta. We will visit the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta\, The Georgia Aquarium and MODA: Museum of Design Atlanta. The three organizations offer internships. We will hear from communication professionals about working for nonprofits. Can you make a living? Can you maintain your passion for the organization’s mission? Find out and bring your own questions. \n\nThe trip is free. Priority will be given to PRSSA members and to seniors. Applications are in room 245 of the Journalism building and are due on Monday\, Feb. 12 by 5 p.m. Questions?
