Entertainment and Media Studies students to showcase original films at festival

The Department of Entertainment and Media Studies at Grady College will host the Everyone Must See These Films Festival, a three-night event on Saturday, May 7 at 5 p.m.; Sunday, May 8 at 5 and 8 p.m.; and Monday, May 9 at 8 p.m.

The films will be shown at Ciné, a movie theater at 234 West Hancock Avenue in Athens, and the screenings are free and open to the public to attend.

The film festival will feature the works of EMST students in the form of original short films. As a part of the EMST collaboration with Universidad de San Francisco de Quito, a student from this school in Ecuador will be screening a short film, as well.

The eleven films to be shown cover complex topics such as love, loss, mysterious creatures and the struggles of addiction. Light appetizers and signature drinks representing each film will be served.
