Tudor Vlad

Dr. Tudor Vlad is the Executive Director of the Cox International Center after serving as the Center’s Director from 2017 to 2022. His research focuses on media challenges in emerging democracies and the impact of mid-career training programs for journalists. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Georgia, he was the Chair of the Journalism Department of the Babes-Bolyai University, Romania, and director of the World Free Press Institute. Dr. Vlad has been a visiting IREX Fellow at the University of North Carolina and a Senior Fulbright Scholar at the University of Georgia. He has conducted many workshops for journalists around the world. Vlad worked as a journalist in Romania for 20 years.

Jooyoung Kim

Dr. Jooyoung Kim is a Professor, Director of the Cox International Center, and Dan Magill Georgia Athletic Association professor in sports communications. He is also the founder and Executive Director of Cox CAM Fellows Program. At UGA, Dr. Kim is also a faculty member at the Center for Asian Studies and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Kim’s research seeks to advance scientific knowledge in understanding the interactions between advertising and consumers across media platforms. His research includes more than 40 refereed journal publications in top/leading academic journals, numerous refereed presentations, and invited speeches at academic conferences and business venues. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Interactive Advertising. Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Academy of Advertising, European Advertising Academy, Korea Advertising Society, and Korean Association of Advertising & PR; and was elected Secretary of the 2021-2022 American Academy of Advertising Board of Directors.

Ted Kim

Dr. Ted Kim manages and coordinates the programming and administrative aspects of the Communication and Media (CAM) Fellows Program at the Cox International Center. His duties include providing instructional, academic, and administrative work with all business matters associated with the CAM Program and other international visiting scholar or training programs in the Cox International Center.

Barbara Bond, administrative assistant

Barbara Bond

Barbara Bond is an administrative fiscal specialist for the Cox International Center. Prior to Grady College, Bond spent ten years in the healthcare industry – nine years as a lead certified pharmacy technician and one year as a nurse coordinator for home health. She also worked several years in office management and accounting in the private business sector.
