AdPR Exclusive Partnerships

ABAC

The Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club (ABAC) has established two permanent scholarships for AdPR students involved in its exclusive mentorship program. Each year, the mentoring program matches more than 40 students with broadcast advertising professionals in Atlanta.

 


American Airlines

American Airlines has provided three areas of sponsorship that support student and faculty initiatives for the Advertising and Public Relations Department. In addition, the company’s SVP of Global Engagement, Ron DeFeo, is a member of the Executive Advisory Council. The three initiatives include: (1) sponsorship of Talking Dog, which provides insights into the next generation of consumers, Generation Z, (2) sponsorship of the AdPR Academy, a weeklong boot camp designed to teach tangible advertising and public relations skills to students from diverse backgrounds and (3) commitment to faculty research and initiatives that continue to put the Department as one of the top four programs in the nation.


Amsterdam Worldwide

Grady ADPR students have access to an exclusive internship with the global communications company Amsterdam Worldwide. Students spend the summer interning in Amsterdam with a company that represents brands including Chevrolet, Warsteiner, and Panasonic.


Aon Early Career Launch Program

Aon Hewitt offers one exclusive Communications Specialist opportunity to a recent Grady College graduate as part of our early career development program, known as Launch. Aon Hewitt’s Communication Consulting practice works with clients to design and distribute comprehensive, multimedia communication campaigns for our clients’ employees and their family members, covering the full spectrum of Human Resource areas. From annual health care enrollment to retirement planning, from compensation and pay program design to performance management, Aon Hewitt Communication Consultants deliver accurate, timely and engaging messages, through print and online channels, to help our clients and their people achieve mutual success.


Coca-Cola

Atlanta-based global beverage company Coca-Cola offers an exclusive summer internship program for Grady College ADPR majors. Each year Coca-Cola executives interview Grady students for the highly desired and competitive communications internship. There are usually at least two Coca-Cola interns each summer.


Cookerly Public Relations

Cookerly Public Relations offers Grady AdPR students an exclusive internship each term. Cookerly, based in Atlanta, works with commercial, government and non-profit clients of all sizes and nation-wide. Cookerly specializes in getting their clients visibility, often with the goal of motivating clients’ audiences to inquire about a product/service, purchase it, or change their particular behavior pattern about something. The agency routinely manages comprehensive strategies simultaneously – including media outreach, speaking opportunities, social media, and advertising, among others. Recent clients include SunTrust, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Georgia Emergency Management Agency, and Westin Hotels and Resorts.


Creative Circus

The Summer@The Circus is a partnership between The University of Georgia & The Creative Circus. Students can earn up to six hours of upper-level elective credit offered by the Department of Advertising and Public Relations while studying on-site at The Creative Circus in Atlanta. It’s an in-depth & specialized crash course in advertising creativity from one of the top portfolio schools in the country.

 


Ebay

Our newest program, the eBay/AdPR Learning Alliance, is designed to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between eBay and the Department of Advertising and Public Relations. The program builds Interest and awareness among students about opportunities in Silicon Valley with a trip in January 2017 made possible by [http://www.ebay.com’]eBay.  A special projects team of students will also be established, to work on a mutually agreed upon class or extracurricular project based learning experience.  We are thrilled for our students to have this opportunity.


Luckie & Co.

With offices in Atlanta and Birmingham, Luckie & Co. is a marketing firm that uses data, insights, empathy and creativity to solve its clients’ toughest challenges. Luckie assembles small, results-driven teams that deliver a range of expertise throughout the process. Today, Luckie is happy to partner with several great clients to help them get closer to their customers and make the most of their marketing investment. Luckie’s partnership with UGA supports three student initiatives within Grady College: AdPR Academy, the SEE Suite, and the student-led advertising and public relations agency, Talking Dog. With the Talking Dog Agency, Luckie will engage students with client research assignments. Through the SEE Suite initiative, Luckie & Co. will benefit from research and data analysis conducted by students in the College’s Social media Engagement and Evaluation Lab. And Luckie & Co. executives will be guest lecturers at the AdPR Academy, a weeklong boot camp designed to teach tangible advertising and public relations skills to students from diverse backgrounds.


Moxie

Moxie N>GEN is a unique opportunity for ADPR students to learn from today’s premier leaders in digital innovation. Moxie N>GEN is working in partnership with Department of Advertising and Public Relations at UGA to develop opportunities for students to learn from professionals who are at the forefront of digital innovation. Our mission: ensure that tomorrow’s digital leaders — that’s you — have the real-world knowledge they need to drive progress in an industry that’s constantly inventing and reinventing itself.

The partnership with Moxie includes workshop instruction and immersions for ADPR faculty so instruction remains cutting edge for our students.


Nebo

In November 2016, Nebo was honored as one of a select group of organizations for its special relationship with the AdPR program.  Nebo has partnered with the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at UGA to enhance student learning and provide professional development opportunities and talent identification.  Nebo is a Platinum level sponsor of AdPR Connection.  They also provide exclusive summer internships, faculty and student training workshops throughout the academic year.  A representative from Nebo Agency serves on the professional advisory committee for the SEE Suite, a state-of-the-art social media monitoring lab at Grady College.  Nebo is a full service digital marketing agency that believes great work comes from understanding the needs, wants, and perceptions of their audience.


Omnicom Grady Emerging Leaders Program

The ADPR department at Grady has formed an exclusive relationship with Omnicom Media Group, Inc., which provides marketing, advertising and corporate communications to more than 5,000 clients in more than 100 countries. One to five ADPR students are selected two times a year by members of the Omnicom Media Group in Atlanta. Selected students are mentored through their time with Omnicom agencies by an Omnicom director, and spend three months with BBDO, the largest advertising firm in the world, and three month with one of Omnicom’s global PR firms. This prestigious opportunity was developed with the belief that by providing students with exposure and experience to multiple disciplines, they will be better prepared for the merging of practice areas that is becoming increasingly endemic as firms provide more services to their clients.


PHD Worldwide – Grady College Creative Collective

For the past two years, several graduating Grady students participated in a six-month research initiative to study consumer behavior for PHD Worldwide, a global media and communications agency. They are flown to New York to present their findings to PHD Worldwide and some of their clients. The program allows advertising students to get experience in consumer research and have a chance to present their work to a leading global agency. PHD Worldwide has agreed to continue the program for a third year during the 2013-2014 school year. PHD Worldwide is part of the Omnicom Group, a global leader in marketing and communications.


Performics

Performics, the performance marketing agency in Publicis, has teamed with Google to offer Grady ADPR students an opportunity to get a head start on a digital media career by taking the Google Adwords Certification Program and Test. Grady ADPR was the first recipient of this official scholarship program, and 10 students were chosen to become individually qualified in Google AdWords. Google’s AdWords program is globally recognized as one of the most important qualifiers to enter the digital marketing industry. Knowledge in AdWords can be transferrable to almost any career in marketing, including ones involving optimization, keyword search and digital metrics.


Turner Entertainment Networks – Grady/Turner Entertainment Network Summer Fellows Program

 provide an exclusive opportunity to five Grady AdPR students through the Grady/Turner Entertainment Network Summer Fellows Program. This 12-week program in Atlanta is an excellent opportunity for students interested in entertainment marketing and social media brand-building strategies.
