Shannah Montgomery

Shannah Montgomery earned her BFA from the University of Cincinnati where she also began her career as a photographer and designer in the university publications department. She moved to Athens to earn her Master of Arts in journalism with an emphasis in visual communication from UGA. After graduation, Shannah worked the Photo Editor for the Morgan County Citizen newspaper and then Creative Director for Lake Oconee Magazine. In 1999, she co-founded ZoomWorks Photography & Design, a full service studio with clients ranging from corporate to editorial to lifestyle. Along the way she’s taught numerous photography classes at both the Lyndon House Center for Arts and at ZoomWorks. In 2016, she accepted a joint staff/ faculty appointment at UGA where she serves as photographer & designer for the Office of the Vice President for Public Service & Outreach. She teaches graphics at Grady College.
