About: Dr. Reichert has been teaching, researching and writing about advertising since 1993. He's served as Department Head since 2010. He also co-founded and co-directs UGA's Cannes Lions study abroad program.

Research Interests and Activities
Dr. Reichert's research interests include advertising and mass communication content and effects. He’s written or edited seven books about major issues and concerns regarding the uses and effects of advertising on professional practice and culture. His research has appeared in a variety of journals including Journal of Advertising, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, and Journal of Communication.
Dr. Reichert's teaching specialties include an array of advertising courses including management, media planning, principles, and media sales. He has also taught a range of communication courses including organizational communication, persuasion, communication analysis and public speaking. Dr. Reichert is a member of the Graduate Faculty and teaches courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Dr. Reichert sold advertising for The Orange County Register in southern California. He also served as deputy press secretary for U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe's 1994 re-election campaign. Reichert is a member of the editorial review boards of Journal of Promotion Management, Sexuality & Culture, Journal of Advertising Education and Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly. Before joining the faculty at Georgia, he taught at the University of Alabama and the University of North Texas.
