Michele Head Joins Cox Center Staff
Michele Head, a University of Georgia employee for the last two years, moved to the James M. Cox Jr. Center for International Mass Communication Training and Research as a program coordinator in July. She is specializing in budget development, tracking and processing university records and other financial matters in the Center.
Ms. Head came to the Cox Center from Crop and Soil Sciences, where she served as an accounting specialist. She holds an associate degree in Business Administration from Gainesville College. A native of Jackson County, Georgia, Ms. Head now resides in Commerce.
"Michele brings critical skills and experience to the Center," said Dr. Lee B. Becker, Director of the Center. "We're extremely pleased to have her join us."
Ms. Head joins Cox Center program coordinators Kornelia Probst-Mackowiak and Joan Zitzelman. Ms. Mackowiak will specialize in program planning and coordination. Ms. Zitzelman will focus on grant writing and other writing needs of the Center.
In addition to working in the Cox Center, Ms. Head works part-time in the business office of the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, in which the Cox Center is located. For the College she also specializes in accounting and financial matters.
Since joining the Center, Ms. Head completed financial reporting requirements for the fiscal year that ended June 30 and has developed an accounting system that will serve Cox Center needs and growth in the current fiscal year.
